The role of
Hitler
1. He had excellent speech making skills. It did
not seem to matter what he said - just how he said it.
2. He was portrayed as a superman that could save Germany. No
physical weaknesses were ever revealed to the public. The Nazi
campaigns focussed on his personality and skills.
Weak
opposition
1. The Social Democrats, the Party in power
at the time, had unpopular economic policies, such as raising
taxes.
2. No opposition party had anyone to match Hitler
3. The Social Democrats quarrelled amongst each other. They did
not present a united front.
Promises
The
Nazis targeted specific areas of the population and promised them
different things.
Methods and
tactics
1. The Nazis were masters of propaganda
2. The Nazis were flexible and changed their policies if they
were not popular
3. The Nazis gained the support of the powerful industrialists
and financial backing from big businesses
4. They were organised and demanded obedience and teamwork from
their members. These people were well trained, motivated and
skilled.
5. The Nazis used new technology to get their message across,
such as the radio
